Morning Glory- Katie Gavin

This post is dedicated to a dear, old friend of mine, Jurbanable. We have been listening to the music of a girl from our high school (Katie Gavin) for a few weeks now and she is absolutely incredible. Jurbanable told me that I have to put her on my blog so that once she is famous I could say that I knew her before everyone else (whatever). But anyway, she has actually been receiving a lot of media attention for her rendition of Whip My Hair by Willow Smith. It is really good but I decided to feature her song Morning Glory in this post just to show a song that she wrote herself.

I showed one of my friends this song today and she asked, "Who is this? Ingrid Michaelson?" I think that can kind of tell you right away that this girl is pretty legit. She has a very unique voice that is really catchy and sounds awesome. You should really check out all of her videos on www.youtube.com/katiegavs but I do have to say some are better than others. I think once she has help writing and has a band formed to play the backups, her music will sound really good (also with a legit recording studio). Anyway, I'm pretty much obsessed with this song right now and think that everyone should check her out. She was on WGN news recently and said that she has been getting offers from record labels but wants to go to college first. I say, "Hell go be famous and a singer! You can always go back to college!"

My rating: 9/10

Morning Glory (the song starts at 4:05)
This is an acoustic version that I like the best.
